Concerts
Girls Just Want to Have Fun. And so do boys. Cyndi Lauper, one of the biggest pop icons of the 80s, will perform at Prague’s O2 Arena on February 23. In March, Lenny Kravitz will take the same stage with his Blue Electric Light Tour. Spring will also bring concerts by Twenty One Pilots and Dua Lipa. And the autumn lineup won’t disappoint either, featuring Robbie Williams, The Offspring, and Katy Perry.
Music Festivals
Czechs love them — and know how to organize them brilliantly. Summer music festivals. From Rock for People at the Hradec Králové airport, where Linkin Park, Slipknot, and Guns N’ Roses will play in June, to Metronome Prague at Prague Exhibition Grounds, showcasing Alanis Morissette and Rag’n’Bone Man. The Colours of Ostrava festival, held in the unique industrial setting of Dolní Vítkovice, remains truly legendary. This July, Sting, Iggy Pop, and Snow Patrol are among the headliners.
Design
Exhibitions, workshops, fashion shows, and creative studios — all this is part of Zlin Design Week, which will take place in Zlín from May 7 to 13. This modern city in eastern Moravia is famous for its architecture. A highlight of the festival is the international Best in Design competition, which discovers talented young designers.
Run Run Run
Are you a runner? Share your passion at numerous public running events. The RunTour series is perfect for families and beginners, attracting thousands of participants every year. In 2025, races will be held in Prague, Brno, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Olomouc, Pardubice, Ústí nad Labem, and Kopřivnice. It’s an ideal way to explore the beauty of Czech and Moravian towns while staying healthy.
Enjoy Your Meal
The Czech Republic is worth tasting. Try one of the gourmet Fresh Festivals, starting in Plzeň on May 24. Plzeň is also known for its beer, celebrated at its own festival in April at Prague’s Holešovice Market. Other towns like Trutnov and Třebíč host their own popular beer festivals, showcasing the nation’s favorite beverage.
Film
Don’t miss the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival at the beginning of the summer holidays. It’s one of the most prestigious film festivals in Central and Eastern Europe, centered around the Thermal Hotel. The festival’s atmosphere fills the entire town, with its spa colonnades and historic architecture providing a stunning backdrop. Movie lovers should also visit the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště, starting on July 25, and the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, running from October 24 to November 2.
