Below you can find answers to questions regarding healthcare insurance for foreigners in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Why is it important to have healthcare insurance for foreigners<\/strong>?
Healthcare insurance for foreigners is necessary for residence in the territory of the Czech Republic. It meets the requirements of Act No. 326\/1999 Coll. on the residence of foreigners in the Czech Republic. In relation to the scope of the insurance it also covers emergency and urgent care provided to the insured in case of accident or sudden illness during a tourist stay in the Schengen area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Who is the healthcare insurance for foreigners<\/strong> for?
For foreigners who are in the Czech Republic for a longer time than 90 days or who are not from the European Union and are not employed by an employer based in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. How is it with students – foreigners in Czech Republic<\/strong>?
If the student is not a citizen of the European Union it is their duty to have comprehensive healthcare insurance for foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. What documents are required for the use case of healthcare for foreigners<\/strong> and the adjustment of insurance claims?
It is only possible to adjust an insurance claim with the following documents:
a. medical report
b. record of payments (with schedule)
c. proof of payment – the original (claim settlement is to be paid to client)
d. signed payment details for the payment of indemnity to the client (bank account –
or the address at which the client resides and where they are also listed on the mailbox)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Can the client visit a non-licensed hospital?
Yes, it is possible. Based on the medical report the claims adjuster will issue a guarantee of payment to the medical institution. It is also possible to negotiate for the medical institution to acquire license with the specific insurance company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
