It is designed especially for prolonged stays in the Czech Republic and covers health care which can be compared to the Czech public health insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a foreigner applies for a residence permit in the Czech Republic, be it for visa, a green or blue card, it is required for him\/her to have healthcare insurance. In the event that the healthcare insurance is not arranged, visa will not be granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two basic types of healthcare insurance for foreigners in the Czech Republic:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Necessary and urgent healthcare insurance for foreigners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This type of insurance covers medical expenses, assistance services and outpatient care or treatment in a hospital in case of sudden deterioration of health condition or if urgent dental treatment is required. In the case of application for a stay in the Czech Republic made abroad this insurance meets the requirements under the Act on Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comprehensive healthcare insurance for foreigners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is concluded when applying for a visa or any residence permit for a stay in the Czech Republic in excess of 90 days according to the law in force since January 1st 2011. It is comparable to the Czech public health insurance.
